Britney Spears' mum has hit back at claims made by the singer in a deleted audio clip about her conservatorship. The pop star, 40, posted a 22-minute voice memo on Sunday night, August 28, revealing new allegations about the legal arrangement that controlled her life for 13 years.
Britney was involuntarily placed under the conservatorship by a court in early 2008 in response to her erratic behaviour and personal problems.
It gave her dad Jamie and others control of her finances and almost every aspect of her life until it was terminated last November, allowing Britney to make her own medical, financial and personal decisions without consulting one of her conservators.
In the audio clip, which was later deleted, the Toxic singer reportedly claimed the conservatorship was "all premeditated" and described it as "pure abuse", saying: "I felt like my family threw me away." Britney also reportedly claimed to be more angry at her mum Lynne than her dad because she didn't speak out against it.
