Comic magician Jack Rhodes wowed the Britain’s Got Talent judges and the audience when he performed his mind-blowing tricks involving Simon Cowell and Bruno Tonioli during the audition stage of the show, and all four judges quickly voted for him to continue on to the semi finals.

The 26 year old from Ulverston, who worked as a nuclear engineer until January of this year, takes to the stage tonight (Tuesday 28 May) in the hopes of going all the way to the final on Sunday.

However, he revealed during his audition that his family were not in the audience to support him, and today he told OK! in an exclusive chat that they won’t be there for the semi final, either. “My family aren’t coming,” he says. “My brother’s playing darts in the pub so there’s a good chance he will be watching it – my wife is coming though, and I’ve got a few mates and my family will be watching at home.” “To be honest, I didn’t want them in the theatre as they’d be too distracting and probably heckling me!” At his original audition, Jack joked that his dad wasn’t interested in magic which was the reason he stayed at home, and he confirms that is still the case, despite Jack successfully making it to the semi finals. “They are genuinely not fans of magic but they are supportive, it’s just not their thing,” he says. “They will be watching at home and voting – probably for the other acts!
