Simon Cowell
Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.
Amanda Holden
Amanda Louise Holden (born 16 February 1971) is an English media personality, actress, television presenter, singer, and author. She has judged on the television talent show competition Britain's Got Talent since the show began its run in 2007 on ITV. As an actress, Holden played the role of Mel in Kiss Me Kate (1998–2000), Geraldine Titley in The Grimleys (1999-2001), Sarah Trevanion in Wild at Heart (2006–2008), Lizzie, the Ring Mistress, in Big Top (2009), and the title role in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which she was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award.

Britain's Got Talent may be known as a rather happy show with its dancing dogs and singing children, but as the 17th series draws to a close, it's rather unsurprising that there have been some behind-the-scenes scandals.

From doggy fraud, to fix accusations, and one judge being booted off the show, BGT has certainly hit headlines over the years, with some of these scandals looming larger than others.

With the show for the Grand Final on TV on Sunday, 2 June, we're taking a look back at some of the most explosive scandals that have hit the show in the nearly two decades it's been on air.

Dog 'fraud' Fans were delighted when Jules O'Dwyer and her dog Matisse won BGT back in 2015, however the public's love for them quickly faded when it was revealed that a stand-in dog Chase had performed a tight rope stunt in place of Matisse for the show's semi-final.This led to Ofcom and ITV receiving over 1,000 complaints and after investigation the incident Ofcom ruled that viewers had been misled by the TV network.
