The UK is bracing itself for a prolonged period of snowfall, with weather forecasts predicting a 30-hour onslaught of wintry conditions.
As December progresses, temperatures are expected to plummet, bringing a dusting of snow to various parts of the country. According to WXCharts, which utilises Met Desk data, Scotland will bear the brunt of the snow on Saturday 21 December, followed by the Midlands and North East of England by midday.
Manchester and parts of Wales are also at risk, with weather maps indicating a significant deterioration in conditions, marked by a purple hue.
By Sunday morning (22 December), some areas may see up to 10cm of snow, with the possibility of snowfall continuing into the evening.
