Brit expat, 70, found dead 'with hand tied to deck' along with his dog on sunken yacht
mirror.co.ukA British man has reportedly been found dead on his sunken sailing boat with a hand tied to the deck in Crete. Authorities on the Greek island are investigating the mysterious death as the 70-year-old expat is believed to have died when his vessel sank, in clear weather, in the port of Souda, near Chania.
Fisherman found the sunken boat in the Vlite area before the Greek Coast Guard and the Souda Port Authority were alerted. When they arrived at the scene they discovered the man's body which was taken by an ambulance to Chania Hospital for an autopsy.
The man is said to be a widower who had been living on the boat alone with his dog since his wife's death 10 years ago, Greek website Zarpa News reports.
