Actor and comedian Brian Murphy has died at the age of 92. Best known for his roles in the classic '70s British sitcoms Man About the House and George and Mildred, Brian also delighted audiences with his performances in various ITV dramas and comedies later in his career.
He passed away peacefully at his home in Kent on Sunday, 2 February. His friend and agent, Thomas Bowington, fondly remembered him as a "joyful and profoundly good-hearted man" and lauded his "talent and humanity".
Brian is survived by his wife, Hi-de-Hi! actress Linda Regan, and his two sons Trevor and Kevin, from his first marriage. Murphy met his wife in 1990 when they starred opposite each other in a play as husband and wife, and they married in 1995.
In a heartfelt tribute, Linda, 75, expressed her deep love: "I was lucky to have in my lifetime found my soulmate. Brian who I will love forever." Alongside a picture of the pair kissing, posted on X, she wrote: "My love for you will never die.
