Brian Matusz has sadly passed away. On Tuesday (January 7), it was announced that the former Baltimore Orioles pitcher had died at the age of 37, the American League team shared in a statement at MLB.com. “Our hearts are heavy tonight as we mourn the passing of former Oriole Brian Matusz,” the statement began. Matusz played with the Orioles from 2009 until 2016.

According to Mid-Atlantic Sports Network‘s Roch Kubatko, Matusz died Tuesday morning. A cause of death has not been released.
