Brexit trade talks appear to be on a knife-edge today after the UK launched a fresh attack on the EU. The latest round of virtual talks will close tomorrow as a June deadline looms to make progress with a trade deal.

If there is no progress by next month, talks may be abandoned - leaving a "cliff-edge" where EU rules will vanish at 11pm on 31 December 2020.

But so far officials on both sides warn there has been little meaningful progress despite the clock ticking. And today David Frost, the Prime Minister's Brexit chief, accused the EU of asking "far more" of the UK than of other countries.
