Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson Hon FRIBA (born 19 June 1964) is a British politician, writer, and former journalist serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party since 2019. He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Johnson was Member of Parliament for Henley from 2001 to 2008 and has been MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip since 2015. Ideologically, Johnson identifies as a one-nation conservative.

mirror.co.ukBrexit trade talks appear to be on a knife-edge today after the UK launched a fresh attack on the EU. The latest round of virtual talks will close tomorrow as a June deadline looms to make progress with a trade deal.
If there is no progress by next month, talks may be abandoned - leaving a "cliff-edge" where EU rules will vanish at 11pm on 31 December 2020.
But so far officials on both sides warn there has been little meaningful progress despite the clock ticking. And today David Frost, the Prime Minister's Brexit chief, accused the EU of asking "far more" of the UK than of other countries.
