Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has been condemned by two leading women's groups in the wake of calling BBC reporter Jane Lewis a "good girl." The remark came at the end of a frosty exchange between the experienced broadcaster and the Parkhead boss in the immediate aftermath of the Premiership champions' dramatic 3-1 win over Motherwell.
The 50-year-old was roundly panned on social media by punters and former players for his choice of a sign off when ending the radio interview.
He stated "done, good girl, well done", after Lewis probed Rodgers over his vague claim that outside voices had already laid out how the champions' season would pan out against a rejuvenated Rangers side.
The Irishman said: "The story has already been written about this group, but we will write our own story." The Daily Mail state Lewis is unfazed by the brewing storm but others have been left angered over the comment.
