Danni Moore was just 30 when she discovered a lump in her breast as she fed her baby son. But as shocking a discovery as that was - the lump turned out to be an aggressive stage 3 breast cancer tumour which led to a double mastectomy - her journey has afforded her some amazing life changing moments including a chance to pose topless for a new campaign. The mum of two hasn't stopped there though and has also completed a charity trip to France with former TOWIE star, Pete Wicks and plans to turn her story into a book to inspire others.
Reflecting back to 2021 Danni, who is from Bristol and who lives with her long term partner Ant Harris, 41, and her children Betsy, 6 and Dexter, 3, admitted that lots of things stood between her and a speedy cancer diagnosis including Covid. "It was very much sort of dismissed, " she admitted. "I was only 30 at the time, so I wasn't falling into your stereotypical bracket of breast cancer and then Covid was around at the time, so the whole world was very different. "It was not deemed a medical emergency and then I had to miss my referral at the breast clinic because of being in contact with someone with Covid." Thinking it was nothing more than a cyst and over reaction on her part, Dannii, who is a beauty therapist and dance teacher, waited another four months before returning to her GP.
However, a biopsy at the clinic revealed it was cancer, and that it had already spread to her lymph nodes. "It's almost funny because I actually felt the best I had in ages.
I was kind of coming out of the other side of just having my second child so I was back to exercising and dancing. I physically felt and looked pretty good." Describing the diagnosis as an "out of the world experience" Danni went into.
