A man and woman have been arrested in the hunt for a man wanted on suspicion of the murder of Thomas Campbell in Tameside, police have revealed.
The man, who is 59, and the woman, 53, have both been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, Greater Manchester Police said on Tuesday.
No further updates have been revealed. The force said John Belfield, 28, was on its 'critical wanted list'. Mr Campbell, 38, who was described by his family as a devoted dad who would 'go out of his way to help his family and friends without a second thought' was found dead at his home on Riverside, Mossley, Tameside, by a neighbour on July 3.
Three people have been charged with conspiracy to murder in connection with his death. Speaking at a press conference earlier this month, police revealed Mr Campbell suffered a 'quite horrific' level of injury as they described Belfield, from Openshaw, as 'a dangerous individual' who shouldn't be approached.
