A man has been charged in connection with a dog attack on a six-year-old girl in a Trafford street. The girl suffered injuries caused by dogs on Ackers Lane in Carrington on Sunday afternoon (March 26).

She was rushed to hospital following the incident, where she remains and is receiving treatment. Bernard Valentine has now been charged under the Dangerous Dogs Act in connection with the incident.

The 35-year-old, of Ackers Lane, Carrington, has been charged with eight counts of being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control that caused injury. READ MORE: Over 100 arrests in GMP crackdown on crime-ridden Manchester area Six of the charges relate to the reported dog attack on the girl.

Police said the other two charges relate to an alleged incident on the same street in December 2022, when a man - aged in his 20s - and his dog were injured.
