A 12-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital with 'serious injuries' after a collision near a Stockport railway station. Police have closed Garners Lane in both directions between Bramhall Lane, close to Davenport railway station, and Rostherne Road.
A cordon has been in place since around 4.10pm this afternoon (March 16) after a collision involving a pedestrian. North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) says it was called out to the scene after 3.30pm, where the young girl was found with serious injuries.
A spokesperson for NWAS said: "We were called to [an] RTC involving a pedestrian at 3.37pm. A 12-year-old girl has been taken to hospital with serious injuries." Police and paramedics remain in attendance along Garners Lane. Members of the public have been advised to avoid the area. Motorists have been advised to find alternative routes, while Stagecoach says bus services in the area have been affected.
