A Scots teenager whose lower back pain turned out to be a rare form of cancer has been told he is officially in remission from the disease.
Aidan Hogg was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in February and spent seven months undergoing gruelling treatment at the Edinburgh Sick Kids hospital.
The 15-year-old, who also suffered from ‘jelly legs’, was told it was unlikely he would ever walk again due to damage to his spinal cord.
But the keen rugby player defied the odds and took his first steps in August, Edinburgh Live reports. Aidan’s mum Emma Davidson has now revealed that they have been told he is in remission and said she is “so very proud” of her boy.She said: “Aidan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia at 15.
