The Chewing Gum Dreams writer, 32, wrote and stars in the new BBC comedy-drama series, which tackles issues of consent, sexual assault, feminism, race and sexuality.
Now Michaela has discussed how her experience shaped the series and what closure on what happened to her looks and feels like.
Vulture described her experience in a profile of the star, revealing that amidst writing the second series of her hit E4 sitcom Chewing Gum in 2016, Michaela took a break to go for a drink with a friend at a bar.
