deadline.comEXCLUSIVE: Braden Aftergood has departed as partner at Sylvester Stallone‘s Balboa Productions, sources tell Deadline.
A replacement is expected to be named soon, I hear. Stallone partnered with Aftergood in 2018 to launch Balboa Productions. The film and TV company, which initially had a multi-year pact with Starlight Culture Entertainment for feature development, has been under a first-look film and TV deal at Amazon MGM Studios since 2023.
Aftergood’s exit has come as a surprise to many as he has been actively working with Amazon on projects in development. Accounts as to why he has been let go vary.
Some point to Aftergood’s work on a side movie project as a reason though I hear that film may have been carved out of his Balboa deal.
