A teenage boy was stabbed after attacked by masked thugs in north Manchester. The young victim had just got off a tram at Abraham Moss in Crumpsall shortly before the incident, on Crescent Road, at around 4.30pm on Thursday afternoon, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.
Initial enquiries suggest he was followed by 'group of youths wearing black clothing and balaclavas,' the force said. An 'altercation' ensued during which the boy, whose age has not been disclosed, was stabbed.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, GMP said in a statement issued this afternoon (Friday).
No arrests have yet been made but 'extensive work' is ongoing to identify the culprits, they said. It has been described as a 'targeted attack.' Detectives are now urging witnesses who have information, which they say could be 'crucial', to come forward.
