A young boy has been left with a fractured skull after 'falling off his bike into a passing truck'. The incident happened on Hindley Road in the Westhoughton area of Bolton on Wednesday afternoon (August 3).

Police and paramedics rushed to the scene. A cordon was put in place on the road as the air ambulance landed on a cricket ground nearby.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed today (Friday) that a boy was rushed to hospital. Since the crash, he has been receiving treatment for his fractured skull in hospital. Police have not confirmed whether any arrests were made at this stage.
