A huge police response was sparked earlier this evening (Thursday) after the incident on Norton Street. Pictures showed a forensic tent on the road and a cordon in place on the residential street.

On nearby Upper Chorlton Road, two smashed up cars were pictured inside another police cordon. It appeared that a badly damaged BMW car and a Ford Ranger had been abandoned at the scene.
