The 27-year-old woman, named as Christiane K in German media, is suspected of killing five of her six children in Solingen. The children are three girls aged one and a half, two and three years old, and two boys - Luca, eight, and Timo, six.
Police believe that they were killed with some kind of pills, RTL reported. Their bodies were found in the family's flat in Solingen by police.
A sixth child, 11-year-old Marcel, rode on a train with his mother following the killings, RTL reported. She got off at Düsseldorf Central Station and threw herself onto the tracks, police have said.
