A boy out riding his bike has died after being struck by a bus. Police and the ambulance service raced to the scene of the tragedy in Bolton this afternoon, but the youngster was pronounced dead at the scene.Officers from Greater Manchester Police were first to arrive at the incident around 1.40pm, following reports of a collision.
A bike could be seen laying inside the cordon as police carried out enquiries into the accident. No arrests have been made as of yet, reports the Mirror.
A spokesman for the force said the driver of the bus was assisting officers with enquiries and added they were looking to talk to anyone who was aboard the vehicle at the time of the incident who left the scene.
They added in a statement: "At approximately 1.40pm today, Friday, December 30, 2022, officers were called to reports of a road traffic collision between a cyclist and a bus on Vernon Street in Bolton."The cyclist, an 11-year-old boy, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.
