Bournemouth vs Luton was called off by referee Simon Hooper after Tom Lockyer's worrying collapse on the pitch - just moments after play resumed.Luton skipper Lockyer went down in the second half with the score tied at 1-1 and the Premier League game was immediately paused to let medical staff attend him.
29-year-old Lockyer had to be stretchered off in the playoff final back in May with a heart issue and there were similar scenes at the Vitality Stadium with ref Hooper signalling the players back into the dressing room amid the distressing scenes.Spectators applauded as Lockyer was carried off the pitch and medics reported the player was 'alert and responsive' to widespread relief.
And ref Hooper soon after brought the players back out to resume play. But within moments it was decided to suspend the fixture and emotional scenes followed with Luton boss Rob Edwards seen in tears as he applauded the fans. More to follow.
