It's the end of an era in Coronation Street as Peter Barlow and Carla Connor call it quits, bringing to an end one of soap fans' most-loved relationships.
Not only that, they've also had to say goodbye to Peter as actor Chris Gascoyne leaves the cobbles. It was revealed earlier this year that the actor would be leaving the ITV soap after 23 years.
Chris first appeared as Peter in 2000 during Corrie's 40th anniversary live episode. He then left the role in 2003 and returned in 2007 for a brief stint before returning full-time in 2008.
In January 2014 it was confirmed that Chris would be leaving once again, but the following year he reprised the role for two episodes for the funeral of Deirdre Barlow, played by Anne Kirkbride.
