He was Foreign Secretary from 2016 to 2018 and Mayor of London from 2008 to 2016. Boris Johnson urges people to wear masks in shops to protect people they love

Boris Johnson has urged people to follow the rules and wear masks in shops, in order to protect the people they love. Speaking at a Number 10 press conference, the Prime Minister was told that in shops and on public transport there remain "loads of people not following the guidance.

Asked what his message to those people would be, the Prime Minister said: "Let me just say what I've said to everybody. Please follow the guidance." He went on to warn that people not following the rules could lead to "someone you love" being infected with coronavirus.

He said: "Bear in mind that you're doing it not just to protect your neighbour but ultimately someone you transmit the disease to could end up infecting someone that you love." And he said fines
