Outgoing Prime Minister Boris Johnson's wife Carrie has shared a rare family photo as they prepare to leave 10 Downing Street this week.
Carrie, 33, posted the photo to her Instagram account as she marked her husband's resignation. It shows Boris and Carrie walking into Number 10, both holding hands with their two-year-old son Wilfred and Carrie holding their 8-month-old daughter Romy in her arms.
She captioned the snap: "Going through the no10 door together for the last time. "I expect Wilf and Romy won't remember it but they've had an incredibly happy start to their lives growing up here. "Thank you so much to all the lovely people at Downing Street and at Chequers who have been so incredibly kind to us - particularly to our children." She also wished her husband's successor, Liz Truss, luck in her new role as leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister. "Best of luck to Liz and her family," she wrote.
Carrie's post comes on the day it was announced that Truss had won the Conservative leadership election, narrowly beating rival and former Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak to the post with 57% of the overall vote.
