Boris Johnson has apologised for not wearing a face mask during a visit to a hospital last week. The prime minister insisted he only took his face covering off for “barely 30 seconds” after he was pictured meeting members of staff at Hexham General Hospital without a mask on November 8.
He admitted he made a mistake but said he put his mask back on as soon as he realised.
