The forecast for the early May bank holiday weekend is looking spectacular, with temperatures up to 25C expected in parts of the UK.

With blue skies and blazing sunshine on the way, and lockdown continuing, we'll all be turning to ways to keep cool and refreshed at home.

If you feel that sometimes a can of beer or a glass of wine out of the fridge just isn't quite cold enough (or that it disappears too quickly), you might want to give an alcoholic ice lolly a go.

Alcohol generally has an extremely low freezing point so it won't turn solid in your freezer if you just stick a bottle of gin in there - but there are plenty of recipes out there that will work.
