BOOKMAKERS are offering odds on Queen’s Park going back to the future. The Scottish Cup shock troops famously knocked Rangers out earlier this month – though they haven’t lifted the trophy since 1893, when Queen Victoria was still on the throne.
But there are spooky similarities between the Spiders’ last taste of glory and the present day. In 1893, Celtic were crowned league champions with Rangers runners-up – and Labour was run by a leader called Keir.
In the US, Grover Cleveland became president for a second time – the only White House comeback in history before Donald Trump.
And if Scotland’s rugby team go down south next weekend and beat England, the good omens for Queen’s Park will be starting to stack up.
