Harry and Jack Williams have penned a new thriller titled The Assassin for Amazon Prime and have signed Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard) and Freddie Highmore (Bates Motel) on as leads.
The Williams’ production outfit Two Brothers Pictures (The Tourist, Boat Story, Fleabag) is producing the series in association with ZDF who is the German co-production partner, All3Media International, and Stan in Australia.
Hawes and Highmore will also serve as Exec Producers on the series, which will run 6×60 episodes. Also starring are Gina Gershon (Riverdale), Shalom Brune-Franklin (The Tourist), Jack Davenport (The Morning Show), Alan Dale (Dynasty) Gerald Kyd (The Swarm), Devon Terrell (Totally Completely Fine), Richard Dormer (Blue Lights) and David Dencik (The Ipcress File).
Amazon said further cast will be announced at a later date. The show’s synopsis reads: Secluded on a remote Greek island, retired assassin Julie (Hawes) has a somewhat thorny reunion with her estranged son, Edward (Highmore), visiting from England.
