Aidan Roche's body has been discovered by police in Switzerland, according to family members. The solo hiker, who grew up in Longlands, Middlesbrough, lost contact on June 22 while he was hiking in the Grindelwald area of Switzerland - only two days before he was due to return to the UK.
A search was launched by authorities, with friends and family issuing desperate pleas for his safe return. However, a tragic update on Sunday from Aiden's older brother, Connor, confirmed that police found Aidan near the trail he was walking last week.
He thanked all those who helped and donated, stating that the support showed "how loved Aidan was", Teesside Live reports.
