Body found in search for missing Scots mum as tributes paid to 'purest of souls'

A body has been found in the search of a young mum who went missing in Tayside. Deksi-Leigh Whyte was reported missing from Wormit in Fife at around 1.15am on Monday, December 16.

Officers from Police Scotland, along with coastguard and lifeboat crews, were involved in an extensive search near the River Tay.

A search and rescue helicopter was also mobilised from Prestwick to assist with the search.A body was discovered near Tayport at around 10.55am yesterday.

Formal identification has yet to take place. Tributes have already been paid to 22-year-old Deksi-Leigh on social media after the tragedy.
