The stray cat whose relationship with a homeless recovering heroin addict inspired books and the film “A Street Cat Named Bob,” has died.Bob was believed to be about 14 years old.James Bowen, a recovering addict, found the abandoned and injured ginger cat in 2007.In the streets of London, Bowen would take Bob with him as he busked and sold The Big Issue — a British magazine that generates income for the homeless.“James took care of Bob who in turn gave him a reason to get up each morning,” a statement on A Streetcat Named Bob’s Facebook page said.
The pair’s bond inspired Bowen to write his first book, A Street Cat Named Bob in 2012. It was a hit, selling eight million copies, according to publisher Hodder & Stoughton.The success of the
