Bob Geldof was terrified of becoming homeless after he began volunteering at a shelter as a teenager. The musician said his ‘greatest fear’ was end up on the streets like the people he volunteered to help when he was 15-years-old.
Bob explained that he has been ‘running’ his entire life to avoid a similar fate. The shelter, Simon Community, reached out to homeless people in Dublin and gave them food.
He told Daily Telegraph: ‘My greatest fear was that I’d become one of the people I was working with, gathering around the big fire we had in Smithfield, taking the soup we were making. ‘That was my image, at 60, sleeping on a park bench in the cold, so I had to keep running, keep running.
