Coronavirus positive childcarer returned to creche days after trip to Spanish hotspot

A childcare worker returned to her creche in Dublin just days after a trip to Spain - and has since tested positive for coronavirus.

The creche, which this week informed parents there was a confirmed case of coronavirus amongst one of its staff, is a Links Childcare facility in Portmarnock.

And it has emerged the 'educarer' had come back from a holiday in her native Spain just two days before she returned to work, failing to self-isolate for the recommended two weeks despite having been abroad in a COVID hotspot, Dublin Live reports.

The woman showed no signs of sickness when she returned to her job and her bosses had no idea she had been to Spain until a concerned co-worker told them.
