Me, ever the sceptic but game for a laugh, agreed to go along. What the fortune teller said made me roll my eyes: “I am not saying you are Cleopatra but somehow you share her story and are connected.” Less than a month later, I got a call from a production company making Jada Pinkett Smith’s “African Queens” and was subsequently hired to direct four episodes of a drama-documentary on the life of the controversial leader. The joke was on me. I remember as a kid seeing Elizabeth Taylor play Cleopatra. I was captivated, but even then, I felt the image was not right. Was her skin really that white? With this new production, could I find the answers about Cleopatra’s heritage and release her from the stranglehold that Hollywood had placed on her image?

Banksy has bought a historic pub in Glastonbury, according to reports.The famous Bristol-based artist is rumoured to have ventured south and purchased the historical The Crown pub – located in a quiet village next to the Glastonbury Festival site.Based in Pilton, it was originally built in the 1600s and is expected to have cost the artist £1million. It has remained closed for many years, although re-opened briefly in 2021 and opened again fully in November 2022 following the Coronavirus pandemic.According to reports, The Crown underwent an extensive renovation project prior to opening, and is said to now feature decor that includes work by Banksy and his friend Dorcas Casey, who featured in his Dismaland Exhibition in 2015.

Capcom has kicked off a surprise Street Fighter 6 beta for PlayStation users, though fans of the upcoming fighting game will need to wait until next week to play on Xbox or PC.The Street Fighter 6 showcase was broadcast last night (April 20), where Capcom revealed it was dropping a demo immediately after the stream ended.“Create your avatar, explore World Tour mode and start fighting,” teased Lil Wayne, who hosted the showcase.While the Street Fighter 6 beta is available now on PS4 and PS5, it won’t arrive on PC or Xbox Series X|S until next Wednesday (April 26).While Capcom has not announced a closing date for the beta, a recent blog post from the studio has confirmed what will be on offer. Both Luke and Ryu will be available as playable characters, while players will also be able to create and control their own avatar — which Capcom noted will carry through to the full version of the game when it launches in June.The beta will also let players try out the beginning of Street Fighter 6‘s single-player World Tour mode, along with One On One fights and a range of tutorials and character guides for newcomers.However, some parts of the game – such as its multiplayer modes and full roster of fighters – will not be available to try out during the beta.

Actor turned football club owner, Ryan Reynolds has reportedly bought a £1.5million house just outside of Wrexham in Wales following the success of the football club. The Deadpool star, 46, bought Wrexham FC with fellow actor friend Rob McElhenney in November 2020, through the company through the RR McReynolds Company LLC. Since then, the Canadian actor has often been spotted in and around the Welsh town, and has now reportedly bought a house in the area, a source told The Sun.
