Netflix has announced the return of Black Mirror and said its new season will be the “most unpredictable yet”. Fans of the show went wild on Tuesday after its official Twitter account posted its first tweet in four years, with many feeling news regarding the show’s future was imminent.
Now Netflix has confirmed that Black Mirror season six will drop this summer and unveiled its brand-new trailer. Created by writer and satirist Charlie Brooker, the sci-fi anthology series presents stand-alone dystopian stories that explore themes of contemporary techno-paranoia.
Often likened to a modern take on The Twilight Zone, it proved a huge success when it launched on Channel 4 in 2011 before moving to Netflix.
Speaking to Netflix, Brooker said the latest series will contain some unexpected twists alongside the “familiar Black Mirror tropes”.
