Steven J. Horowitz Senior Music Writer Black Eyed Peas has canceled its Las Vegas residency, scheduled to kick off on Feb. 15 at Planet Hollywood’s PH Live.
Online speculation that the residency was underselling has been circulating for months, though the group, which consists of Will.i.am, Apl.de.ap and Taboo, explained on social media that the cancelation was due to “current circumstances.” “To our dearest Peabodies,” wrote the group on Instagram Stories, “It is with a heavy heart that, in light of current circumstances, our Las Vegas shows will not be moving forward as planned.
Ticket providers will issue full refunds automatically. Stay tuned for updates on future performances by following us — we can’t wait to see you again.” Ticketmaster shows that all performances for the “Black Eyed Peas: 3008—The Vegas Residency” have been canceled.
The trio was set to play 15 shows at the venue, with three batches of dates spanning Feb. through May. Variety has reached out to Black Eyed Peas’ representatives for further comment.
