Bindi and Robert Irwin honoured their late father Steve Irwin over the weekend, 16 years after his tragic and shocking death.
The wildlife expert, who was loved worldwide, died on September 4, 2006, the same date as Father's Day in Australia. Steve's children Robert and Bindi, who have both followed in their dad's footsteps to become animal conservationists, paid tribute to him on Sunday with heart warming childhood photos.
Bindi, 24, is now a parent herself to baby Grace who is one. She uploaded a picture of herself and her dad beaming behind her, as the pair sat in a boat with young Bindi holding up a baby croc.
She captioned the photo: "Grandpa Crocodile, I know you would’ve been the most incredible grandfather because you were such an extraordinary dad.Thank you for being an amazing guardian angel for Grace." Steve's son, Robert, 18, also shared a post on Instagram in honour of his late father.The picture was of Robert as a baby, in his dad's arms.
