Billy Joe Saunders could miss out on a fight with Canelo Alvarez after the Mexican reportedly struck a deal with Gennady Golovkin.
Saunders was due to take on the Mexican on May 2 in Las Vegas but the fight has been postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
And reports on Tuesday claimed Saunders and Golovkin have verbally agreed to meet for a third time on September 13. That shortens the window of opportunity for Saunders and Canelo to meet with boxing unlikely to resume until June.
Should Saunders be trumped, he would miss out on around £7million from the biggest fight of his career. Promoter Eddie Hearn told Sky Sports: "Everything now depends on when the sport begins, because that fight was supposed to take place on Cinco de Mayo.
