Norwich City boss Dean Smith rounded on Billy Gilmour’s foul mouthed boo boys and ordered them to stop bullying the Scotland super-kid.
Gilmour was subjected to X-rated abuse during his side’s 3-0 thrashing at the hands of Crystal Palace last week as the rock bottom Canaries slumped to a fifth successive Premier League beating. The on-loan midfielder was made a scapegoat and targeted with chants of ‘F*** off back to Chelsea’ as he carried the can for a run of results which look to have wrecked Smith’s chances of keeping the club in England’s top flight.
The recently appointed boss admitted on Friday that Gilmour has been stung by the savaging and called on the moronic section of his club’s fans to keep their mouths shut when Gilmour returns to action in Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Charlton.
Smith said: “I was disappointed with what I heard. I didn’t hear it at the actual game but I had family members in the stand.“I must say it was a minority and Billy knows that.
