Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell‘s mom is explaining why her kids are not really “nepo babies.” In a new interview, Maggie Baird reacted to claims that her children are “nepo babies” because she and husband Patrick O’Connell are actors and musicians. Keep reading to find out more…While speaking with Glamour, Maggie hit back at the “nepo baby” claims after a clip of her appearing on Friends started circulating on social media. “That came out, and it was like, ‘Oh, Billie is a nepo baby,’” Maggie said. “And I’m like, ‘Did you know that I got that episode of Friends because I was about to lose my health insurance?’” Maggie went on say that she and her husband – who appeared in Iron Man and The West Wing – are “working class actors.” “We eked out a meager living, and it afforded us a lot of time with our kids, which was awesome,” she added. Maggie then said that she and Patrick never experienced the same level of fame that Billie, 22, and Finneas, 27, have found, adding that there are a lot of people working in the entertainment industry that aren’t at the level too. “People don’t really understand there’s a whole industry of people who are creative and they’re working and they’re struggling, and they make perfectly happy lives, and they feel creative, and they feel fulfilled,” Maggie explained. “But that’s a very different life than on this side of the door where you’re suddenly playing in this different arena.” Maggie also said that she’s thankful that her family has remained close-knit. “You step onstage in front of 100,000 people, and that’s an hour and a half, and then the rest of the time you’re at the dinner table and your brother is giving you s–t,” Maggie shared. “The family part is the part that keeps it sane.”
