Big Brother's Nadia Almada has shared her "overwhelming" shock at discovering that superstar Adele is a fan of hers and watched her win series five of the reality TV hit.
Nadia, 46, won the show in 2004 – a TV milestone as she was the first transgender winner, with fans still thanking her today for representing trans people.
She appeared on Good Morning Britain on Friday, 6 October, alongside Craig Phillips, Big Brother's first-ever winner, ahead of the contest's relaunch on ITV this Sunday.Talking about the fame they found after Big Brother, host Ben Shephard asked Nadia: "Didn't Adele say you winning was one of the most important TV moments ever?" Nadia joked: "Darling, Adele and I, we go back, way, way back!" Ben and co-host Kate Garraway showed a clip of Adele speaking to the crowd at one of her Las Vegas shows a week ago, where she name-checked reality TV winners including Nadia and Pop Idol champion Will Young.
She said: "It was the year a lady called Nadia won and she was the first transgender (contestant). So we were in Crete in Greece while Nadia was winning Big Brother in London.
