Best friend's moving tribute to 'happy-go-lucky' David Hayward after sudden death

Scarborough, was just 19 when he died in December 2022 after struggling with his mental health. Fiercely loved by everyone who knew him, he was described as a great friend, a loving younger brother and a perfect son.

There has been a huge outpouring of grief, showing the joy and laughter he brought into the lives of so many. To honour his memory and to shine a light on men's mental health, David's family and friends are undertaking a number of challenges to raise vital funds for charity. Louis hopes to raise as much money as possible for Andy's Man Club and wants to draw attention to the mental health benefits of cold exposure.

The 19-year-old from Scarborough said: "It all stemmed from me losing my friend David about two months ago and in a way, it’s a shame that it took that for me to realise that everyone struggles to different degrees. "I’m really passionate about cold exposure and what it can do for your mind.
