Jurors in the Benjamin Mendy trial heard a woman texted a friend to claim 'Mendy sexually assaulted me at the party'. The 28-year-old Manchester City player is currently on trial at Chester Crown Court accused of eight counts of rape against five women, one count of sexual assault and one count of attempted rape.
The offences are alleged to have taken place on five different occasions at his home between October 2018 and August last year.
He denies all charges. On the 12th day of the trial jurors heard messages that one of the alleged complaints, Woman Three, shared with a male friend. "Mendy sexually assaulted me at the party," she told him a few days after the alleged sexual assault, which is said to have occurred in January 2021.
