Ben Gibbard is sending love to his home state of Washington. The Death Cab for Cutie frontman, who calls Seattle his home, unveiled a new song called "Life in Quarantine" for The Stranger as part of their "A Message to the City Series." "The airports and train stations are full of desperate people / But no one is going anywhere soon," he proclaims in the melancholy chorus. "I know this is a really f---ed up and scary time for everybody, including myself, and I know that we're all trying to figure out what to do to make it better or alleviate the suffering of someone else," he explained after his performance, before encouraging viewers to donate extra sleeping bags and tents to Aurora Commons, a welcoming Seattle space for unhoused people.
