Ben Affleck to Write & Direct New Movie About the Making of 'Chinatown'

Ben Affleck has signed on to write and direct the upcoming movie The Big Goodbye, which will follow the behind-the-scenes story of the making of the classic film Chinatown.

The movie will be based on the book “The Big Goodbye: Chinatown and the Last Years of Hollywood” by Sam Wasson.

SNL creator Lorne Michaels is the one who brought the book to Paramount Pictures and he’ll produce alongside Ben.

You might remember that Ben once dated one of Lorne‘s closest colleagues, Lindsay Shookus.
