An 'iconic' Manchester pub with a rich history has been put on the market after closing its doors earlier this year. The Footage, which sits in a prime spot on the corner of Grosvenor Street and Oxford Road, mysteriously closed in May with no prior notice.

The popular student drinking spot, which was once a Grosvenor Picture Palace cinema, put a pop-up message on its website’s booking form earlier this year, telling customers: “We will no longer be trading after the 25th May.

It has been a pleasure serving the community and we shall miss you." But now, the beloved Grade II listed premises, which served university students and locals for more than three decades, has popped up for sale on Rightmove with the price undisclosed. "For over three decades, it served as a bustling hub for university students and city centre locals alike.

This is a noteworthy opportunity to secure one of Manchester’s most iconic buildings in the city centre." The area has a huge student population as it houses the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University and The Royal Northern College of Music.
