Being a 'nice' driver could get you an unlimited fine and nine points on your driving licence

Motorists have been warned that being a 'nice' driver might not actually be a good idea and could land them in a heap of trouble.

It's an integral part of British culture to be extremely polite to each other and that can often transfer onto the road. Simple things such as keeping the speed limit, indicating when changing direction, and following the other general rules of the road can communicate to other drivers that you are being respectful.

However, while it's a good idea to be courteous to other road users, certain behaviours could land you in trouble with the police.

For example, flashing your lights to warn others of speed cameras down the road can result in a large fine and points on your licence, Wales Online reports.
