Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is a benefit for people who need help with daily living tasks or getting around outside the home as a result of a long-term illness, mental health condition or disability.
PIP is not just awarded to those with outwardly visible physical, health conditions or disabilities, it is there to provide support for people with an ever-evolving list of 'hidden' conditions too.
Successful claimants could get between £23.70 and £152.15 every week if they are over 16 and have not yet reached State Pension age, which is now 66 for both men and women across the UK.
