‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Unveils Max Premiere Date

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, Tim Burton’s long-awaited follow-up to his classic 1988 supernatural comedy Beetlejuice, will begin streaming exclusively on Max on December 6, debuting on HBO linear on Saturday, December 7 at 6:10 p.m.

ET. The film’s HBO/Max debut comes following a triumphant September theatrical launch that saw it gross over $451 million worldwide.

On the domestic front, it’s the second highest-grossing film of Burton’s career, at a take exceeding $294M. Reteaming Burton with original cast members Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara and Michael Keaton, the sequel picks up with Lydia Deetz (Ryder) as an adult still haunted by experiences earlier in life with the mischievous ghost, Betelgeuse (Keaton).

Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid (Jenna Ortega), discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened.
